Try getting a hold of a DSP-100 and see how it changes the radio. I have only heard one on the air, but signals weren't quite enough to get a clip of him--but it did sound nice for just a desk microphone.

If it doesn't work well, then you can always sell the DSP-100 and '450 and upgrade to a more ESSB capable rig.

Howdy Vince!
Welcome to the Voodoo Forum!!

We've heard a few TS-450 out there that were awesome.
We were curious about them as a cheaper alternative to the TS-850, so we kind of looked into them for HiFi.
Well, this is what we found out and then dropped the research.
The TS-450 does NOT have a secret menu to be able to individually adjust and select the Transmit IF filters like the 850 gives you.
So what this means is that you will have to hard wire the Inrad filter into the TX selected filter position.
This will be NON-selectable. It will always be there when TX.
Also you would have to find the DSP-100 as !kant suggested.
This would have to be modified as per KW0AM website.
As far as which filters and wear they go, we never got that far in our research.
Since they would not be selectable during TX like the 850, we dropped the research.
Good Luck!!!
